Festive party setups around the house

Whether you’re throwing an elegant New Year’s soiree for a crowd, or a cozy holiday get together with your nearest and dearest, special details can set your party apart. We’ve put together a go to few tips and tricks to help you throw your next big event.

1.     Implement a theme and a subtle dress code. A visual direction makes party planning and decorating a breeze. A few ideas such as black and gold, ugly Christmas (or the holiday of your choice) sweater, and all the glitters. Giving guests a subtle guideline helps them to decide on what to wear and how formal to dress.

2.     Setup games and/or ice breakers! If you’re having a small group overturning the party into a game night gets everyone laughing and interacting. Ice-breakers can be useful for large parties where guest might not be well acquainted and encourage strangers to become fast friends

3.     Decorations, party favours and customization. To not spend a small fortune, try your hand at DIY and re-purposeing non holiday themed pieces. Simple glass jars can be filled with on theme treat to create a stunning dessert table. If your theme is winter cabin, go foraging outside for greenery and fallen branches to decorate a table. A photo area with props and a polaroid camera is a fun way to commemorate the event and et people talking!

4.     Don’t forget the food, stick to your theme, and then decide your game plan. Are you doing it all yourself, catering or doing a potluck? Signature drinks is another way to tie in your theme and makes bartending a breeze to have pre-set options.
